Hooray Kitty!!! After 7 weeks of Wellness Restoration, Kitt is ready to hit the trails. Having built up enough muscle to support his joints, Kitt is staying comfortable and balanced walking circles in the ring, up and down hills, and on the road. With an end goal to get Kitt into a therapy riding program, we want to keep him ‘bitless’, as he will go that way once he gets into the program. All in all, we are so excited to have Kitt feeling fresh and fabulous!
As Kitt reaches the six-week mark in his ‘Senior Wellness Restoration’, it’s time to adjust our management program according to his progression. This means addressing his nutrition plan, fitness regimen, and physical therapy. Here are the 3 big changes to Kitt’s management program starting this week!
Here we are three weeks into Kitt’s Senior Wellness Restoration, and he couldn’t be improving faster! When Kitt got to Dreamer’s Knoll farm, we were less concerned with his weight, and more concerned with the extent of his muscle atrophy. Now his coat has got some serious bloom, he’s put on most of the weight he needs, and he is quickly building topline! I want to give a shout out to Tribute Equine Nutrition for helping Kitt to be the best horse he can be! With that, here are the top 3 reasons that the Dreamer’s Knoll Herd is Powered by Tribute!

Coming out of a sedentary life style, Kitt’s muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons are unaccustomed to physical stress. Even moving to a field with a hill was a wake up call for Kitty! With the goal of going from atrophied to excellent, my mind started to spin with the question- Where do we start??? The answer came pretty simply after watching all the sleek Kentucky Derby contenders march around the paddock. Kitt would build muscle the same way the thoroughbreds start- Hand Walking!
Kitt is an 18 year old thoroughbred who has done it all! Starting his career on the track, Kitt raced for several years. He then moved on to be a successful polo horse. At the end of his polo career in 2015, Kitt was donated to Bearfoot Ranch, where he has been retired for 3 years. Now, Kitt is preparing to shine as he jumps into his senior wellness restoration program!
